Holding me hostage

There is this particular car repair place that I frequent because I know the people who run it. The only problem is that whenever I go in for car work, they end up keeping me for the whole day. I've come to get around this issue by going in 1 hour before they close. Today, I had to do a lot of work on my car, actually they told me that if I kept driving it around in this condition, the car could shut down on me.

So, I've been here all day today.....with no end in sight...doing work......this really sucks.

Too long didn't read: working remotely is not as glamorous as I thought it would be.

Missing

So, my bff at work is not in today. This day has been the longest day ever. I usually get into work mode about 2:00 PM daily but all day, I have been unable to focus. It's filled with people here but it seems so empty today. Also, noone to appreciate my humor...

Hipster adults are soooo mainstream.

When will this day be over?!?!??!....argh.

Natural disasters in Philadelphia!

Couple days prior, we had a small earthquake and now a hurricane was upon us. Amazingly enough, this hurricane warning that we as Philadelphians were facing, was far more exaggerated than what it turned out to be.

The worst is after those two natural disasters. I am having a ladybug infestation in my room. 2 ladybugs keep swarming around my light in endless circles. I have spent the last 20 minutes staring at them circling around my light. Worst Sunday ever.

Movie Quote

I hate to quote movies but this one hits close to the heart.

"Lead with your heart. If you have a pure heart and good intentions, everyone will follow you." -71 Into the Fire.

Today at one point, a person within my department had said that they were at a point of lost cause. Before this point, they had hit annoyance and petulance. After the lost cause stage, it was assumed what is the point. What is the point? You have to look out for yourself because no one else is. It's very sad but you can't trust anyone. I want to trust everyone but I am slowly changing. I think I am at the annoyance and petulance stage. When will it end?

Just venting. Tomorrow will be a better and brighter day...hopefully.

Business Eating/Drinking Tips

Salutations. LOL!!!

I have been sleepless for quite some time and have decided to update with some Korean business drinking/eating tips. LOL!!!!

1. Before you eat when food first arrives on the table, wait until your supervisors/elders start to eat first.
2. When drinking, never "one shot" unless told otherwise...especially on the first shot.
3. When a supervisor/elder shot glass has been emptied, pour the alcohol for them with two hands.
4. Also when you pour a drink, it should be by age first.
5. Before ordering a super expensive dish/entree, make sure you aren't the only one. Check the vibe and order an entree around the same price.
6. When doing a "cheers" shot "clink thing", make sure you put it below the shot glass of your supervisors/elders.

I'm sure there are more but I can't think right now. It's small things like these that people look at sometimes...poor john couldn't get it right....LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

Just be mindful of others before yourself and you should do fine. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *ahem* SK

edit-

Wow. I never want to be in a Korean corporate dining situation ever.

Lucky to be alive

I almost died today. Not in the way that everyone says to emphasize a point. I really almost died today. My car is totaled. I will upload pictures at a later time and date.

Why do all the bad things happen to me?

When it rains, it pours.

Adios~

Peas of a Pod

Another day where my best friend at work is not here....soooooo quiet and lonely. No one to get my corny jokes.

As a side note, my best friend at work sold me out to her dad. His laptop's screen is cracked. A minor issue to replace with a new screen. Just takes some time to do it but the part itself is more than what I had expected. My prognosis was for her to contact the company and see if they can do it at a reasonable price. So days pass and I go to church. He sees me and asks how his laptop is doing. Immediately thinking that she didn't tell him the situation, I said good. He thinks that I have been working on his laptop for the past couple weeks without any results. I asked her to resolve the issue by calling customer service but she forgets.....maybe on purpose. Nonetheless, I can not go to church until this issue gets resolved. How unfortunate.

Nut Huggers.

So, the day before yesterday, I lost control of my car and had a minor accident. My door creaks when I open it...fml..

That night of the accident, decided to do a nice thing by taking my little brother out to bowling and eat at Pat's Cheese steak. While going to the bowling alley, it was snowing lightly and I lost control while cruising down a huge hill. (Ashmead and Tookany Creek Pkwy) Jeebus. Try to play it off cool-like while he's freaking out and said, "It happens" but was really crying/regretting taking him out. Finally make our way to the alley and made a wager with him and now I have to buy him something (bass strings bc he's a jazz musician [don't ask...]) Afterwards, bought him a cheese steak and showed him my work place....at 3:30 am. No one at all was there. All the lights were turned off and it was snowing even more out. Came home and passed out.

So today, taking a much needed break because my back is aching from the bowling (not as young as I think I am) when alas, my mom calls and tells me to buy my brother clothes. To much debate, I follow orders and will follow through by stopping at a nearby mall. I suggested we go to the thrift store but he said something to the effect of, "are you serious? *sigh*"

I love 3 day weekends. It should be made into a law.

**edit: So I take my younger brother to Macy's and he just doesn't know how to buy clothes or has a sense of fashion. He's the type to enjoy funny novelty t-shirts and anime shirts. He wanted to buy clothes that are clean cut so I suggested nut-huggers. So in the end, we leave because he couldn't find anything he liked so I said we will go to SEARS if he doesn't fly and act right. In the end, we can home after about 2 hours of looking around (bought NOTHING!) and I gave him some of my old stuff.

..maybe I should buy some nut-huggers.

I Pity the Fool

Pity is a word that I have come to loathe. It is a sentiment that deems another person as being of lower status/quality/situation. Do not pity the fool!

Words of wisdom or words of a crazy man?

The word diet has come to be synonymous with losing weight and this thought is triggered anytime this word is said. But "diet" is defined by dictionary.com as "a prescribed selection of foods". If a person does not eat because he or she does not have the appetite, others would immediately assume or question, "Are you on a diet?". Wrong word buddy, try again. The question being asked should be, "Are you anorexic?"

Thank you. Case Closed. NEXT!!

Blast from the past!

I spent my entire last weekend revisiting my old flame, "The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles". By my estimation, they should be called the middle-aged mutant ninja turtles.

TNMT brought all aspects that a little boy loved into one thing, turtles/ninja/pizza/catch phrases/& cartoons. Watching these in 2011, I truly understand why I turned out this way. "It's Pizza Time" and "Cowabunga". Seriously?

It gave me tons of lols. I say, revisit old cartoons when you get a chance and try to see why you were so into whatever it was at that time.

PS. My little brother was crazy about Barney the Purple dinosaur. Way more embarrassing than TNMT.
