Buying Electronics Over Ebay?

Ebay is the devil.

I say this purely from my standpoint. Ebay is so addicting. I will spend hours of my life browsing ebay items. I will then buy an item which I have never inspected physically and wait for it to be mailed out to me. I would highly advise you don't make this mistake. I have had many problems with electronics being sent out to me D.O.A. To save yourself time and the trouble, don't do it. DON'T DO IT!

I've bought many cell phone parts off ebay and have had to wait 3 months for them to be shipped out to me. I sometimes get wrong items for no apparent reason. If you have the patience to save a couple of dollars, then be my guest.

The truth be told

I/C Chip Inside!

When you buy a charger for your cell phone make sure it has an "I/C Chip" inside.

An I/C Chip is a chip that prevents any overcharging. The I/C chip uses a simple internal sensor to detect the battery's power capacity. Once cell phone battery is fully charged, the charger automatically switches to stand-by mode.

If you ever buy another charger, make sure it has an I/C chip inside. Got I/C? This guy does.

Phone not charging?

Hello, I'm here to help you out with your phone not holding a charge. There can be three problems with your phone. Those three problems can be any one from your charger might not be working properly, your battery might be overcharged, or your phone could have a faulty charging port.

The cheapest problem to diagnose is your charger. See if you can get another charger and see if your phone will charge with that charger. If it does, that means you just need to buy a new charger. Chargers can die relatively easy and quickly. A new charger would only set you back any where from 10-20 dollars.

If a new charger isnt the problem, see if your battery is distended. You can tell by removing the battery and seeing if the battery bulges in the middle. This bulge is from overcharging. Overcharging is when you leave your phone charged in overnight and leaving it on even when your phone is already fully charged. Most of the newer phones don't run into this problem but I see this problem a lot too. Common symptoms of your battery being overcharged is you only get 5 - 10 minutes of talk time on your phone. Your battery might say that its completely full but when you use your phone, the battery dies out almost instantly. In this case, you need to buy a new battery. A new battery will set you back anywhere from 20 - 30 dollars.

If neither of those solutions helped, you need to buy a new phone. This is because you have a faulty charging port. Since the charging port is located on the main board, repairing is often expensive. Most of the times, repairing would be just as expensive as buying a new phone.

I hope you keep this in mind the next time you ever run into this problem. This might save you the trouble to diagnose this problem or have someone mis-diagnose this problem.

Guilty Gear for Wii

The fighting game Guilty Gear XX Accent Core will be released by 505 Games for the Wii in February 2008 according to Digital Spy. Guilty Gear is a 2D fighting game like Street Fighter 2 that has over the edge animation with great graphics.
The game will utilize the wiimote control for attack moves while the nunchuk will be used to move the fighters around.
This might be fun, but personally I’d like to see someone release a fighting game like Mortal Kombat where you strap multiple wiimotes around both hands and ankles so you can control punches and kicks with your hands and feet.
Yes, I realize that this has “bad idea” written all over it, but it’s saturday and a man can dream of a world where he is placed in the virtual shoes of Subzero or Scorpion, can’t he? Yeah, I guess it is a really bad idea. Just like getting drunk and falling asleep while your friends are still around.

This guy is pwned!

PSP is a hero.

The following is the sad story of a businessman from Louisville kidnapped, beaten, and tortured by two others in a motel room in West Knox County for nine days. After the local police and FBI agents hadsolved the case, it became known that the businessman Jose Ignacio Ortega Garcia was another victim of the "Mexican mafia". The mexican mafia is a terroristic group who have been perpetrating these aweful crimes against fellow Hispanic citizens in America. Ortega Garcia reportedly suffered both mental and physical torture from Jose Sanchez and Juan Gonzales as the assailants forced him to write numerous checks totaling approximately US$ 27,000. The following is part of the report filed by FBI Agent Buddy Early:
On June 21, Gonzales gave Sanchez a handheld video game that would prove to be Garcia's savior...
Sanchez played the video game virtually all day that day and much of the night. Garcia used the distraction as an opportunity to loosen his bindings. When the exhausted gamer fell asleep, Garcia bolted, running from the room to the hotel office, screaming, "They are trying to kill me..."
Suspect Sanchez's thumb print was recovered from a PlayStation Portable hand-held video game box recovered from victim Garcia's car...The suspects were nabbed in Houston on a federal complaint filed by Assistant U.S. Attorney Tracy Stone.

I knew sooner or later, the PSP would save peoples lives.

The Sky-puter! LOL.

The Sky Puter is essentially a computer without a case, while all components are suspended from the ceiling with a combination of coat hangers, cat5, and cat3 cable. Your airflow doesn't really get any better than this. To me it looks like a still frame of a computer exploding.

Wiimote hacking?

It seems as though the remote controller for the Nintendo Wii has been already hacked and used for purposes other than the Wii. It seems that the wiimote is a bluetooth signal that can be detected by nearby computers and other bluetooth compatible hardware. The computers find s the wiimote and name it a non standard human interface device. Knowing this the hackers out there have made programs so that the computer could interpret the signals being sent from the wiimote and translates those signals to mouse movement. I can't wait to see whats in store for the wii and its accessories.

Nintendo Wii

Wii would like to play. I have spontaneously went out and bought the Nintendo Wii. I went home and tore through the packaging to get to the good stuff. The Nintendo Wii had about 5 lbs of packing material and plastic bags that took 10 minutes to remove. A nice touch from the guys at Wii included them throwing in 2 AA batteries for the Wii-mote(Wii controller).
The Wii came with 1 Wii-mote, 1 nunchuck, 1 console + hookup wires, 1 sensor bar, and one game called Wii Sports.
I must have stayed up all night yesterday playing this. Quite a fun time killer indeed. I had to admit that I didn't want to buy the Wii at first. I thought it would not compare to the other current generation gaming consoles. Why did I buy the Wii then? Its a lot cheaper than the other consoles out there. Wii costs 250+tax while the PS3 costs 599+tax. With a price difference of over 200 dollars, I'll gladly stick with the Wii anyday. Wouldn't you?
